Memorial Day Weekend

We got to spend a lot of time with Nana, Popo, and Bryce this weekend!  It was a lot of fun.

Max, Popo, Carly, and Layla
Max loves the girls and likes to be near them most of the time.

Next year I am going to be teaching 2nd grade instead of 3rd or 4th.  That means I have to move rooms.  I have been in my current room for 6 years and have accumulated quite a bit.  Thursday afternoon I went to school and started to sort through some things. It was nice to have babysitters so I didn't have to take the girls with me.  I was able to get more done that way.  And Saturday night Aaron and I went out to eat, just the two of us.

Weekend Fun with Aunt Katie

Grandma left Wednesday afternoon, but we weren't alone for long.  Aunt Katie came to visit Thursday night!  We had a lot of fun with her.

The girls went to their first restaurant, Cheddars, Saturday for lunch. All they did was sleep.

Katie helped organize our garage.  A huge thanks to Katie!!

She left Sunday afternoon.  We were sad to see her leave but looking forward to seeing her again in a month.

Who is who?

It was easy to tell the girls apart when we were in the hopsital because Layla was hooked up to her monitor and Carly was hooked up to her monitor.  When we brought them home, we left their hospital bracelets on for awhile just to make sure we didn't mix them up.  Carly has slightly darker hair than Layla.  Layla is a little bit bigger and longer than Carly.  Carly has a rounder face and Layla has a pointier chin. I finally cut their bracelets off because we thought we knew who was who.
As they have grown, they look more and more alike, especially in pictures. Layla's face is filling out and now has rounder cheeks like Carly.  Carly is gaining weight and is almost the same size as Layla.  They both have brown hair. One night I questioned who I was holding! We have assigned blankets, boppys, and wubbanubs to each girl, so if they have one of those it is easy. Those also make it easier to tell them apart in pictures.  I heard about painting one twin's toenail to be able to tell them apart, so that is what I did.  Carly  now has one pretty toenail. I can't imagine what it would be like if they were identical!

One Month Old

Today the girls are one month old! This month has flown by.

The weather has been humid, cloudy, and rainy so we haven't been able to go on another walk.  We have just been hanging out. Grandma has been here since April 24 and has been helping out a lot with the girls and around the house.  We don't want her to leave!

Fun morning

This morning the girls were in the swing (Carly) and bouncy seat (Layla) and the dogs took turns keeping watch.

Grandma and I also took the girls out for their first walk around the neighborhood.  It was a warm and sunny.  A perfect day for a walk.

Friends

I was feeding the girls tonight and Layla grabbed ahold of Carly's hand.  They continued to hold hands for quite awhile. I thought it was a cute picture.

Busy Weekend

Aaron and I had a busy weekend. I was a personal attendant in a good friend's wedding.  Thursday night I went to her bachelorette party for a few hours while Dad and Grandma watched the girls.  It was strange to be gone without them for while.
Friday Aaron and I went to the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner while Grandma, Nana (Aaron's Mom), and Popo (Aaron's Dad) babysat.  We knew they were in good hands.
