A Week of Firsts

After working 12 1/2 years at Sam's, Aaron has decided to pursue a different opportunity at Whole Foods Market.  He has accepted a job as an Associate Store Team Leader and starts his new career in two weeks. The girls and I went with him to a nearby Whole Foods Monday afternoon.

This is how the girls decided to drive their cart.
Today the girls had their 15 month check up.  The doctor said they were growing just as they should be.  Carly is 32 in. tall and weighs 22lbs. 2 oz. and Layla is 31.5 in. tall and weighs 21lbs. 5 oz. We are still working on getting the girls to walk without assistance.  Layla is almost there.  She can stand up on her own in the middle of the room and take steps toward us.  Carly is not quite as stable, but sure has fun trying to walk like her sister.
For dinner tonight Aaron grilled some chicken sausage he bought at Whole Foods. While he was grilling, the girls and I put together the water table Aunt Becca, Uncle Brandon, Jonah and Cora got the girls for their birthday. Carly was very interested in helping me.  She had her hand on the screwdriver every time I used it.  Layla wanted to stand up on my back to see what I was doing, but didn't want to help.  Max even got in on the action.

After we finished putting it together, we took it outside, filled it with water, and the girls got to play.  We will definitely be using this again! Thanks, Allemans!

The girls were wearing shoes for the first time today.  They were hesitant to walk in them, but didn't mind standing and playing.

Emmitt and Max were outside, too!

What a fun family day!

And Jenny, I don't know how you get anything done with your two "helpers" around :) Stay cool down there!
